Inspired by National Novel Writing Month, in which participants have one month to write a 50,000 word novel, Sketchbook Month challenges participants to completely fill a sketchbook over the course of one month. Everyone who enters can win - all you have to do is finish the sketchbook. This also means, of course, that everyone can lose - and that's why this blog was created. By posting your own progress and seeing other people's pages, the hope is we will drag each other over the finish line together. This also gives us a forum to exchange techniques, tips, and discoveries we've made while pushing ourselves to make our best sketchbooks ever.
The Basics:
The Month - I picked May because school ends at the beginning of the month, and it would be so easy to just play videogames and drink beer for a month since I don't have to draw for school assignments. Also, selfishly, I'm heading down to the Illustration Academy in June and want to keep in shape for it.
Sketchbook - The large Moleskine sketchbook is the default sketchbook of Sketchbook Month. 100 pages in 31 days means you have to average 3.225806452 pages per day - easy! If you don't dig the moleskine, feel free to use whatever sketchbook you like, but if it's less than 100 pages, or half the size, you'll only be half a winner...
Who can join? - Anyone can - just contact me or leave a comment here with your email address and I'll get you set up to start posting on the blog. If you know someone who you think should do this, send them a link - spread the word.
---Jeff
P.S. Feel free to post what's happening in your sketchbook right now, too. But when May 1st rolls around, you've got to start a completely brand new, never before used sketchbook. No cheating!

Such an AWESOME Idea. I participated in NaNoWriMo and it took my 3 tries (complications the first two years caused a slight failure ... bleh), so this is definitely a worthy challenge!!!!
